We consider such tracking to be a violation of the Core Principles of Ezine Privacy.
And we consider ezines which use this tracking to be ezine privacy violators.

Their tracking features page says:
Delivery: Once the message has been delivered, Bronto detects when, where and how many times the message was opened by the message recipient and aggregates that information for the entire mailing.
Click-Throughs: Bronto reports on which hypertext links were clicked on, by whom, and how many times.
Forwards: Bronto tracks simple forwards as well as use of the "forward to a friend" feature. With "forward to a friend", Bronto also includes the friend's email address in your tracking reports.
Reporting: Detailed reports not only provide general open, click-through, etc. metrics but also specific tracking information at the recipient level that includes more detail of the time, action, and IP address of the interaction.
