Huggins created EzinePrivacy.org after realizing that ezine management companies were actually bragging about their ability to track individual subscribers' opening and clicking. James doesn't object to the use of such technology to generate general information about open rates and click-through. But the idea that individual subscriber actions were being tracked and stored, that companies saw this as a good thing caused concern. In addition, as he checked privacy statements he discovered that they either didn't disclose this information, or they disclosed it in cyberlaw gibberish designed to hide what was really going on.
